Sinds ik in 1978 met genealogisch onderzoek begon heb ik vrij veel informatie verzameld over families Schoof(s) in de Nederlanden. Het is nog altijd de bedoeling om te zijner tijd opnieuw in dit materiaal te duiken, maar realistisch kijkend naar de tijd die ik daarvoor moet vrijmaken zal dat nog wel enige tijd duren. Toch zal ik proberen zo nu en dan wat Schoofs-gegevens online te brengen. Deze pagina's hebben tot doel om te proberen relaties tussen de verschillende takken te leggen en ze kunnen als platform dienen voor verdere uitwisseling tussen onderzoekers.
De familie Schoofs waarvan
ik zelf
afstam, mijn moeder is een Schoofs, staat inmiddels op
het net.
Daarnaast is hier een lijst te vinden van de stamvaders van
(fragment-)genealogieën die ik tot op heden heb verzameld. De gegevens
zijn
o.m. bijeen gebracht aan de hand van het onderzoek van de
persoonskaarten van
alle Schoofsen die in Nederland sinds 1938 zijn overleden. Nader
onderzoek van
de hieruit ontstane reconstructies Schoofs bracht het aantal takken die
-qua
oudste spoor- uit het huidige Nederland stammen al terug tot een
zestal; één
daarvan bleek oorspronkelijk helemaal geen Schoofs te zijn geweest.
Daarnaast zijn uit andere bronnen en onderzoek Schoofstakken
bekend, afkomstig uit huidig België (zie ook onderaan deze pagina) en
Duitsland.
In vroeger tijden werden veel variaties gebruikt voor de naam Schoofs. Ik heb mij in eerste aanleg geconcentreerd op Schoofs (ook bij het onderzoek a.d.h. van de persoonskaarten). Over veel Schoof-families is eerder gepubliceerd in het "Informatie-bulletin voor allen die SCHOOF in hun naam schrijven", uitgebracht door dhr. Th.G. Schoof. Deze bulletins zijn o.a. in te zien bij het CBG in Den Haag.
Since I started the
genealogical research in 1978 as a hobby, I have gathered a lot of data
on Schoof(s) families in the Low Countries,
now known as The Netherlands and Belgium, and from a small part of
Germany called Nederrijn. Someday I hope to have enough time to dig
into all this mostly rough material and to do much more research on it.
But being realistic I must conclude this will not be in the near
future, simply because of a lack of time. Nevertheless, once in a while
I will add to the online data.
In these pages I have tried to make connections between known branches
of the family, but only if clear evidence is available or when a
relationship can in all probability be assumed. I hope that this online
publication will serve as a platform for researchers interested in
these families and that it will accelerate all Schoof(s) research.
The Schoofs family I
belong to (my mother is a Schoofs) has been online for many years.
Listed below is a list of other branches, each beginning with the
earliest known ancestor of that branch. These data are based upon the
so called ‘persoonskaarten’ of all people in the Netherlands named
Schoofs who have died since 1938. I then researched further back in
time. Archival data and publications provided further information about
the families. At this time I have researched all these persons back to
six branches, one of which was originally not named Schoofs, but
Schoehous or Schoos. Other research and sources has brought in Schoofs
families from what is now known as Belgium (see below) and Germany.
In the past, variations of the name Schoofs were common. I concentrated
my research on the name
Schoofs when I worked on the ‘persoonskaarten’ and afterwards.
A bulletin (in restricted circulation) called "Informatie-bulletin voor
allen die SCHOOF in
hun naam schrijven" (= bulletin for all those writing Schoof in their
name) made by Mr. Th.G. Schoof provided information about many Schoof
families; one set of these bulletins is available at the Central Bureau
for Genealogy in The Hague.
Some often used abbreviations: geb. = born, ged. = baptised, o.tr. =
betrothal, tr. = married, ov. = died, begr. = buried

In deze lijst wordt telkens de oudst (bewezen) stamvader genoemd; de genoemde plaats verwijst naar de plaats waaruit het oudst bekende gegeven van die familietak afkomstig is.
